Note: Quality control is a critical component of digitization initiatives. Scanners Scanning equipment should be periodically tested in accordance with the ANSI/AIIM MS44 (1993) Recommended Practice for Quality Control of Image Scanners. Images should be periodically checked during the digitization process and after access copies are uploaded to the Archives Catalogue and Online Collections or other platforms.
- Project managers should ensure archives digitization projects have appropriate quality control measures to assess:
- Image quality
- Optical character recognition quality
- Names of files to be uploaded to Libraries’ digital preservation environment
- Organization of files to be uploaded to Libraries digital preservation environment
- Perform quality control measures during digitization process and after access copies are uploaded to the Archives Catalogue and Online Collections.
- Follow the instructions Section 6 of the ANSI/AIIM MS44 (1993) Recommended Practice for Quality Control of Image Scanners.
