Search or browse the Archives Catalogue and produce a set of search results that you want to export as CSV data. There are three approaches to identify archival descriptions to export:

  • Conduct a basic or advanced search

  • Conduct an “expert search”

  • Conduct multiple searches and use the clipboard function to gather relevant archival descriptions

The approach will vary depending on the fonds, level of processing, and goal. The following table provides some preliminary guidance on how to produce desired search results:

Determine accession number(s) of the material to be appraised.

Use an expert query to search the Archives Catalogue for archival descriptions with the accession number(s).

Handle complex reference questions, digitization requests, etc.

Search or browse the catalogue to identify relevant archival descriptions. Use the clipboard function to flag archival descriptions from multiple search queries.
