Create and edit accession records in ArchivesSpace
Introduction
- Accession records are linked to repositories (Dalhousie University Archives or MacRae Library).
- Accession records are linked to instances that are linked to physical storage locations.
Create accession record
- Log into ArchivesSpace.
- Click on the Select Repository menu and select the appropriate repository from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Select Repository" button to make your selection.
- Click on the Create button and select Accession.
- Alternatively, click on the Browse drop-down menu and select Accessions.
- Then click on the "Create Accession" button.
- Complete the New Accession form. Refer to the metadata guidelines for accession records for guidance.
- Hover over the title of each field to reveal additional data entry guidelines.
- To save the accession record, click on the Save Accession button under the table of contents in the left side menu or at the bottom of the page.
Edit accession records
- Log into ArchivesSpace.
- Click on the Select Repository menu and select the appropriate repository from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Select Repository" button to make your selection.
- Click on the Browse drop-down menu and select Accessions.
- Use the Sort by menu to sort the accession register by title, created date, modified date, or identifier.
- Or use the Filter by text to search for an accession record.
- Click on the Edit button to open an accession record in edit mode.
- Edit the accession record as required. Refer to the metadata guidelines for accession records for guidance.
- To save the accession record, click on the Save Accession button under the table of contents in the left side menu or at the bottom of the page.
