Introduction

1. An accession can include records with a single provenance or records from multiple provenances.
   
   
2. A fonds can be constructed from multiple accessions (i.e., accruals) from one or more sources.
   
   
3. Maintaining the intellectual and physical relationships between and within accessions and archival fonds is the most important task carried out by Archives staff.
