Introduction

This page provides instructions on how to download and install the Libraries' File Transfer Tool.

Download the File Transfer Tool

Visit the Libraries’ Software Downloads Page: https://libraries.dal.ca/help/software-downloads.html

Login with your Dalhousie NetID.

Download the appropriate installer.

Install the File Transfer Tool (Windows)

Double click on the TransfertoolSetup.exe file.

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may prevent the installer from running.

Click on the “More info” link and then click on the “Run anyway” button.

Select “Install for me only (recommended)

Select the setup language (Default is English) and click on the “OK” button.

Review the License Agreement. Select the “I accept the agreement” radio button and click on the “Next” button.

Choose the location where the File Transfer Tool should be installed. The default location is recommended but you can click on the “Browse” button to choose a different location. Click on the “Next” button when you have selected the destination.

Select the option to create a desktop shortcut if preferred. Click on the “Next” button.

Click on the “Install” button to start the installation.

Click on the “Finish” button to close the installer and launch the File Transfer Tool.
