Create access copy JPEG files

Create access copy JPEG files

Introduction

This page describes how to use Adobe Photoshop to create access copy JPEGs. Scanner operators must complete the appropriate procedures for creating digital “master” files before completing these steps. See the Libraries' Digitization Handbook for more guidance.

Instructions

Launch Adobe Photoshop.

Click on File menu and select Scripts > Image Processor.

Click on the “Select Folder…” button and navigate to the folder containing the master TIFF files.

Select the “Include All sub-folders” checkbox if appropriate.

Select the “Save in Same Location” radio button.

Select the “Save as JPEG” checkbox.

Set the JPEG image quality at 12.

Select the “Include ICC Profile” checkbox.

Click the “Run” button to batch convert the images.

Image Processor will save the JPEGs in a new folder called JPEG that is nested within the source folder.

Rename the JPEG folder “access.”
