SCSI	Small computer storage interface	Parallel	Requires termination, limited to 7 or 15 devices per controller
SAS	Serial attached SCSI	Serial	128 devices, full duplex, hot plugging, can communicate with SATA or SCSI controllers
IDE	Integrated drive electronics, also known as ATA or Parallel ATA (PATA)	Parallel	18-inch maximum length cable, limited to two devices per controller
SATA	Serial ATA	Serial	Host swapping, one device per channel
