Introduction

• Physical storage locations in ArchivesSpace are more detailed than in the Archives Catalogue. ArchivesSpace locations do not have container information; they are linked to containers.

Create single physical location in ArchivesSpace

1. Log into ArchivesSpace.
   
   

   Open

   

    

2. Click on the "Create" drop-down menu and select "Location" then select "Single Location."
   
   

   Open

   

    

3. Fill out the New Location data entry form.
   
   

   Open

   

    

4. Refer to the following list for guidance.

   1. Building

   2. Floor

   3. Room

   4. Area

   5. Coordinate Label 1

   6. Coordinate Indicator 1
      
      

5. Click on the Save Location... button to save the location.
