Dissemination Information Package (DIP)
Definition
An Information Package, derived from one or more AIPs, and sent by Archives to the Consumer in response to a request to the OAIS.

Introduction
Dissemination Information Packages (DIPs) are stored in a secure “access storage” location. DIPs that contain unrestricted material can also be made publicly available through the online Archives Catalogue. Metadata about DIPs with restricted material can be uploaded to the Archives Catalogue through a process called “metadata-only DIP upload.”
